Recorded live at Warung, Brazil’s electronic ‘music temple’ this three-hour genre-bending set stands as a testament to Sharam’s dedication to educating while entertaining the masses without any musical limitations. Not only was his head-turning 10-hour set a hit at Warung breaking the club’s all time attendance record, the set also formed the basis of a prestigious Essential Mix in May 2011 on BBC Radio 1, with Pete Tong describing Sharam “on devastating form.”

A new special edition of Sharam’s Debut album called Get Wild (Short Cuts) showcases 11 out of 22 songs originally released on Get Wild Double CD in a shorter and more accessible format. “People have been telling me that they love the album, and wished they could have a condensed version of it so they can listen to the whole thing on their ride to work or when they go on a run”, said Sharam. “I’m very proud of this version because it showcase the best of the album in 45 minutes.” Get Wild (Short Cuts), is out now!

Following a decade long career as one half of Deep Dish, the most successful US dance duo ever, Sharam has become a global solo star. His childhood in Iran couldn’t have been more different.

Brought up without access to western culture before the revolution, Sharam was 10 years old when he first discovered western music following a clandestine showing of some US music videos that, along with a Betamax recorder, a family member had smuggled into the country. Through these he learned about artists such as Michael Jackson, Boney M, and Queen, and first watched the movie film ‘Flashdance’ (a cover version of the title song later became Deep Dish’s biggest chart hit).

America and Americana became his obsessions, and in a true ‘underground’ setting he would also watch spaghetti westerns whenever he had the opportunity. It was only a matter of time after his arrival in America that he would find his true calling – a producer and DJ with a knack for making the hookiest songs using his childhood influences. The latest of these is ‘Get Wild’; a homage of sorts to his heroes Sergio Leone and Ennio Morricone.

Now based in Washington DC, Sharam’s profile rivals fellow dance stars such as David Guetta, Deadmau5, and Tiesto,, though repeated chart and daytime radio success has never eclipsed his reputation for putting out anthemic underground dance bombs. For every hit like ‘P.A.T.T (Party All The Time)’, he’s released Beatport faves such as ‘Texi’, ‘Kill (Techno)’, and ‘Get Wild’, all heavily supported by the likes of Angello, Ingrosso, Luciano, Cox, to Morrilo, Guetta, and Tiesto. Few have been able to rattle both of sides of the musical fence with such precision.

‘Get Wild’ consists of 20 songs spread over two CDs, entitled ‘WildDish’ and ‘SideDish’. Included are the current single, ‘She Came Along’, tipped to become one of the biggest dance hits of the year, and his UK Top 10 hit ‘P.A.T.T.’ (featuring a new vocal by P Diddy) – the original spent 15 weeks in the Top 30 and achieved A-list rotation at every major UK radio station.

Elsewhere the tracks include gems like ‘Get Wild’ (Essential Miami WMC Tune of 2008), the techno-infused summer anthem ‘Texi’, its darker sibling stormer ‘Crazi’, ‘Sweat’ with Tommy Lee’s amazing piano wizardry, long-time Deep Dish collaborator Morel on ‘I Love The Way You’re Breaking My Heart’ and Anousheh Khalili – from Deep Dish’s hit singles ‘Say Hello’ and ‘Flashdance’ – who appears on ‘Don’t Say A Word’ and ‘Be The Change’. One of only a handful of electronic music producers that can move effortlessly between the nocturnal world of underground dance floors all the way to the crossover radio hits. Always unpredictable, SHARAM (known to many as one half of Grammy Award-winning DJ super-duo Deep Dish) will never conform to anything other than his own high standards, so one can only help but to wonder what he’ll come up with next. On April 7, ULTRA Records will release GET WILD, his long-awaited debut studio album on which he sticks to his mantra that there should be no divisions within dance music. SHARAM’s body of work features new material from different landscapes in dance music including collaborations with Daniel Bedingfield, P. Diddy, Tommy Lee and Kid Cudi.

This spring, look for SHARAM to bring his “Get Wild – The Live Show” to select major markets across North America as part of his album tour. He has produced a show incorporating guest appearances by the featured artists on the album and visual elements from a spaghetti Western-themed short film which he wrote and directed. The show also incorporates videos for the title track “Get Wild” and the single “She Came Along” with Kid Cudi which he also directed. In other cities he’ll perform his world renowned DJ sets weaving in and out of the various original titles from his debut album. The tour will kick off March 20 in Austin during SXSW and will pass through Miami during WMC, as well as Los Angeles, New York City, San Francisco, Boston, Chicago, Minneapolis, Toronto and more.

Get Wild will be available in two formats: a single-disc version and a collector edition consisting of 22 original songs spread over two CDs, titled WildDish and SideDish, of which only 2500 will be made. The songs range from house gems like “Get Wild” (Essential Miami WMC Tune of 2008), the techno-infused summer anthem “Texi” (hailed as one of the top Ibiza records of 2008) and its darker sibling stormer “Crazi” (praised by the who’s who of the techno scene as the sleeper record of the fall of 2008), to releases such as “Patt With Diddy,” a new version of his hit single “PATT” featuring the hip-hop artist and “The One” with Daniel Bedingfield. “PATT” and “The One” hit Top 10 and Top 20 respectively in many international markets.

Other tracks of note include “Sweat” which highlights Tommy Lee’s amazing piano wizardry, long-time Deep Dish collaborator Morel who lend his sensuous voice to “I Love The Way You’re Breaking My Heart” and Anousheh Khalili–from Deep Dish’s hit singles “Say Hello” and “Flashdance”–who appears on “Don’t Say A Word” and “Be The Change,” a track inspired and dedicated to Anousheh Ansari, the first private female space explorer. The album’s next single is “She Came Along,” a collaboration with Kid Cudi featuring vocal samples of “Strange” by the immortal Patsy Cline.

While taking a break from Deep Dish, one of the most successful U.S. dance duos in history, Washington D.C.-based SHARAM continues to delight and confound critics in equal measure. His much-talked about DJ sets continue to rock the world’s finest clubs such as Warung, Brazil Ministry Of Sound London, Amnesia Ibiza, Space Miami and many more.

Sharam, one half of the electronic super-duo Deep Dish, mixes up the newest edition of the critically acclaimed series Global Underground, this time taking his sound to the people of Dubai. After his recent trip to the Trilogy super club in the rising urban metropolis of Dubai, he was inspired to bring this sound to everyone across the globe.
